So far my experience at Oakcrest High School has been great! We may not have the best looking school but we do in fact have the best people. Everyone is so welcoming and caring for one another. You're not afraid to ask for help when needed. But my favorite part is band! Oakcrest by far has the best band program I could ask for. Jazz band, marching band, concert band, honor band, etc.. You have so many options to find your strengths and weaknesses. I do them all! The band program is wonderful, but the students and teachers I share it with are even better. Joining band is like joining one big musical family. You feel welcomed and loved. We go out of our way to help one another. Directors will help you even in their own time, just to help you better yourself. We work together and we accomplish great things as a whole. This is why I love Oakcrest High School. I'm proud to be a falcon.
I partipated in a variety of different clubs when I went there. Habitat for humanity was my favorite. We actually got to help rebuild houses on the jersey shore that were hit by hurricane Sandy. I was also in Interact, another community service organization. I participated in Student Council, our haunted walk (which funded the performing art club), history club, choir, track and field, and there's probably more that I just can't remember. They were all very enjoyable. These activities were not only a way to get the most out of our education, but another way to make friends and hang out without the pressure of a normal classroom environment.
I would change the lunch for starters! Then I'm changing the environment, not saying its the worst but it also isn't the best.
