The campus is beautiful and clean for a school(the bathrooms are only like 60% destroyed)and the teachers, especially the 8th grade ones, are AMAZING.My favorites are Mrs.Marlowe, the LA teacher, Mr.Riley, math, Mrs.Whiddon, history, and Mrs.Pirzer, the band director.Having been in band all 3 years, Mrs.Pirzer is top-notch.She's a teacher who can actually get students to listen to her without being too strict.Mrs.Marlowe is really focused on her subject;she helps each individual student with what they are struggling with and helps improve them greatly with their writing.Mrs.Whiddon is amazing;she manages to make the dusty old men from history sound interesting.Lastly, Mr. Riley is an excellent teacher. He does interactive notes, drops the lowest test grade each 9 weeks, and is generally an awesome and fun person.Oak View is excellent, and I highly recommend it.
It's a pretty great school. Being an eighth grader, I must say that mrs. marlowe and mr. riley are absolutely AMAZING. They've really helped prepare me and the other students for high school and probably even college. I really enjoy both of their classes, and most of my other classes... the sixth grade teachers are pretty good too, but the teachers changed, so I can't say much about the 2018-2019 teachers. The seventh grade teachers are good, but I think the eighth grade teachers are my favorite. This is an overall excellent school, and I have loved my three years here.
We moved to this district so the kids could go to Oakview and Newberry HS. Because of the opportunities and programs offered as well as the safety and community togetherness.
