In my four years here at Oak Park I have had a great overall experience. The staff is helpful and funny, and they are able to connect with students easily. The teachers are experienced and know how to help individuals as well as the group. There are opportunities to get help everywhere and teachers that you don't have in class are willing to take the time to get to know you and help you understand the work. The counselors are helpful and devote a bunch of time towards each individual student. The little amount of schedule mishaps that I had got corrected almost immediately if not by the next morning. I am involved in two sports and the coaches are phenomenal, they provide great inside and devotion to the team and players. The success is not there yet but the new group of coaches has shown overall improvement in team success over the past 3 years. It is a great environment that is easy to learn in and show improvement in your overall high school experience.

OPHS is replete with motivated students. Its small school size allows for close interactions between students and between students and faculty, which is one of the pros of this school. Students have almost unlimited access to their teachers for aid or questions about subject matter. In addition, the large amount of self-motivated students allows for a strong academic environment where college is on the top of most students' list of importance. However, this strong academic nature does not create the fault of an overly-competitive, hostile environment; students are eager to aid one another in their journey through high school.
Food is not the greatest.
There is a large amount of self-studying that is done by students; not from incompetent teachers, but from the overwhelming course load taken by many students.
Athletics are not the strongest when compared to the rest of the league; however, compared to other local high schools OPHS often is better.
Great atmosphere, excellent teachers. Students are happy, the administration is constantly trying to improve our experiences. Our academic stats are very impressive, and most students are successful in reaching their goals. Bullying does occur, though it is extremely rare and the staff handles it well. As with nearly all schools, there are a few problematic students/teachers, but no school is perfect. Overall, Oak Park High school is an amazing school where kids can succeed and be happy.
