COVID-19 Update for Prospective Students and Families:

Oak Hill Academy is pleased to announce that we have reached Phase 4 in our plan to re-open school. Our nurses have completed innumerable medical screenings and administered multiple tests for COVID throughout our community (e.g., students, faculty, and staff). Today we begin our 6th week of school — with all tests producing negative results. (9/28/20) Learn More

As a prior student at Oak Hill, I enjoyed so many extra curricular activities with different clubs, sports, a general store, fishing pond, and more on a private location to occupy the time. Students and teachers alike do school dances, holiday parties, and home games! The teachers are understanding and help you to make good grades. Uniforms are of variety, which was nice. The housing for teachers and students offer plenty of space in each bedroom with conjoining bathrooms, windows in each room. Nice for a boarding school. I still communicate with my lifelong friends I've made.

I came to Oak Hill Academy the summer before freshman year of high school because I was coasting through my classes at the public school I was attending. I wasn't engaged and school bored me even though I loved to learn. I was very shy and didn't make friends very easily, always sitting in the back of the classroom and reading books during lunches to avoid awkward conversations. Right as I stepped foot on campus one of my soon to become closest friends stepped up and started talking to me as if I'd known her for years. From then on everything just clicked. The teachers met me where I was academically and pushed me to reach my potential and go even further because they believed in me wholeheartedly. I've found a second family at Oak Hill and the sense of community I garnered from being enrolled here is unparalleled to anywhere else. My friends come from all over and are some of the dearest bonds I have. I wouldn't trade coming here for anything as it has prepared me for the real world.
To me this school is alright. I say this because when they give you the tour around school they tell you that you have your phone all the time, that you get to hang out and leave campus alot of the time but actually the only time u can hang out with the girls is after school for about 2 hours, and the only time you can leave campus is when there is warrior trips where u sign up and leave campus to go to a store or movies etc, and that only happens about once every 2-3 months.

Other than that, this school has really good teachers that will put there own time out of the way to help struggling students, and that's what is great about it.
The one thing i dont like is that every Sunday we have to go to church, i dont like this because their are people here who are atheist and just dont like church, they may not beileve in god. And if u dont go to church and try to avoid it you get in trouble for it.
