Oak Harbor high school is one of the best schools I’ve attended. They have great electives and primary classes and many different clubs to join! The teachers and administrators really care about the students and their well-being!The school has great lunches as well. The staff and students are very welcoming and are supportive in the students academic life’s. They have great programs for life after high school, and for getting ready for college.
Through this high school, I was given the opportunity to do huge amounts of community service, giving me the push to choose my desired major. I had fun with friends and teachers, they had diverse class electives, and the club activities were enjoyable .
I love Oak Harbor HIgh School because the counselors and teachers are so supportive and are there for everyone. The opportunities are great. There are so many clubs and sports to join so, so there is a place for everyone. Our sports teams and choir are very good when it comes to competitions and I am very proud of the coaches and choir/band teachers for creating such amazing teams for competitions. The food in the school's cafeteria is ok, but the school's DECA store has really good food that everyone loves to eat. The counselors there helped me in my college search and have helped me get ready to apply for college with my transition from Skagit Valley College in Running Start to the next college I plan to attend. The school culture is wonderful. Everyone is very joyful in the hallways and the pep assemblies are extraordinary. We also have a parade and tailgate party before the Homecoming football game that is always top tier. The teachers and academics are great for every skill level
My experience at oak harbor high school has been a positive one. I moved to Oak harbor during my freshman year with several knowledge gaps from my previous school. All of my teachers were super patient and willing to help me catch up to my other peers.
Oak harbor high school is an excellent choice for high school, many resources for classes and athletics and if your new to the school like i was, many of the school staff and even students are willing to help you around the school with anything you need
Love the staff, they are so courageous, outgoing, and just overall generous. The school itself is fairly nice and clean and up to date. Love the students, they're so welcoming.
One of the things I really liked about OHHS was the cafeteria! It's a large area with a loft (usually for Seniors) and there are several types of food choices available: Asian, Sandwiches, Salads, Burgers, and even food made by students. This school provides lots of AP courses and has (mostly) capable teachers. As most high schools go, many of the clubs are popularity based and not very welcoming. This goes especially for the student council. The things I'd love for them to work on is getting actual history teachers rather than having PE/Sports coaches show videos/documentaries all class. In addition, there are many faculty members (eg. Hall/Lunch monitors) that are high on power and snap at students easily without letting them explain themselves. For example on my first day of school, I opened the door for a student then got yelled at for 5 minutes for helping a class skipper! They didn't listen to me when I said I didn't know.
I attended Oak Harbor High School my senior year and I absolutely loved it. I met so many great people and had the most amazing teachers. Compared to my other high school, Oak Harbor excelled in academics, diversity, and clubs/activities. The atmosphere is amazing and I always left school feeling accomplished.
My experience at OHHS was a pleasant one due to very supportive teachers, faculty, and staff. OHHS has a very diverse amount of clubs, sports and activities. One thing I'd like to see change about OHHS is the location of the prom the facility is too small for the number of people that attend
I had a great experience at OHHS. The community is very diverse and connected. The staff are always kind, helpful, and supportive. The teachers really make an effort to help students succeed. OHHS provides tons of resources and opportunities to participate in sports and clubs. Spirit weeks are always fun too!
Good school with caring teachers, and a good variety of classes as well. Accepting faculty and student body and very spirited as well.
I liked the community Oak Harbor High School provides. I like how many teachers made an honest effort to help their students learn. I didn't like the lack of diversity from the school, however, I did enjoy how the school recognized the culture present.
Everyone is familiar with the busy and unstable lives of military families and will always work to accommodate and help all new arrivals and departures to get them on their feet. I was one of these people who came to Oak Harbor in the middle of the school year and put into every class I needed and wanted. Diverse classes let me explore and learn skills and understanding I did not have an opportunity for in other school districts. As a graduate from this school, I look back on it fondly and even now I know there were opportunities I did not have opportunity for because there were so many.
As a military child I've moved to several school districts. This has been one of my favorites and I'm genuinely glad that I'm going to be graduating here.
I like that the school is open to change; it is open to change or bring things in/to do to make a student comfortable in where they are due to there race, sex, etc. What I don't like about the school is how it is a closed-campus. I feel like students would enjoy high school more if the campus were an open one because it is a small town and not a whole lot of crazy things happen (unless it's like a car accident via bad weather or road conditions). On top of that, most of the students are responsible enough to come back on campus when it is time to.
At Oak Harbor High School there are so many clubs there is one for everyone. Also their music programs are on fire as of 2019 the band has had superior rankings at contest for 16 years in a row now that impressive. While no school is perfect Oak Harbor High School was just awarded the Washington green school award making us an all green district. If you want a place for good education and an over ninety percent graduation rate Oak Harbor High is the place for you!
My favorite part about Oak Harbor High School is how welcoming the students are to newcomers. I feel like this is because Oak Harbor is a military town and these students are used to new kids transferring here because they were in that position a few years ago and also a few years before that.
