While this school has a lot to offer in terms of electives and sports, the actual classes are not great. Most teachers use lesson plans from online sources and teach for about 30 minutes before just letting you go on your phone. If you are new to the school then you have to take 8th grade level classes in order to graduate. Some credits you may have from other schools also might not transfer over. It is also extremely hard to make friends if you are new since people like to stick with their friends. Teachers are very biased with dress code as well. Some females are allowed to wear very short skirts while others can be yelled at for having a small hole in their jeans. Teachers also can be very bad about putting grades in very late. Administrators do not do anything about bullying. There is something in place that they claim works by texting a number what your bad experience is/was, but there is many students who said they only got a reply months after the incident happened.

As a sophomore at Oak Grove, I can tell you in the two years that I've spent here that it is a great school. The school has fantastic arts programs, AP courses, and several student-led clubs such as the Foreign Language/Cultural Appreciation Club, where they invite members of varying heritage to speak about their nation's culture and sometimes share food from that culture. At this school you will find that freedom of expression is something that is actually encouraged by the school administration. The dress code is not too strict, and the teachers are deeply personal; they are truly mentors rather than instructors. I have had a fantastic experience at this school so far.
I loved Oak Grove because I realized what it means to be apart of something bigger than myself. I loved the teachers who pushed me to strive to do better, and they prepared me for college. The people are out-of-this-world! If there is one thing I would change, it would be to allow our traditions to not be sensored or interrupted by administration (I.g. Running the halls as seniors and yelling at opponents during a sporting event). Our extra curricular actives keep the community involved in one another, and they allow students to experience new ideas and activities. Our facilities are some of the best in the state (indoor volleyball facility and rebuilt football stadium). Overall, I enjoyed my precious memories as an Oak Grove Warrior, and I will never forget alma mater I do proudly sang for 13 years. Once a warrior, always a warrior.
