I loved Oak Grove because I realized what it means to be apart of something bigger than myself. I loved the teachers who pushed me to strive to do better, and they prepared me for college. The people are out-of-this-world! If there is one thing I would change, it would be to allow our traditions to not be sensored or interrupted by administration (I.g. Running the halls as seniors and yelling at opponents during a sporting event). Our extra curricular actives keep the community involved in one another, and they allow students to experience new ideas and activities. Our facilities are some of the best in the state (indoor volleyball facility and rebuilt football stadium). Overall, I enjoyed my precious memories as an Oak Grove Warrior, and I will never forget alma mater I do proudly sang for 13 years. Once a warrior, always a warrior.

I have been blessed with several dedicated administrators and teachers. My counselor has taken time to help me with choosing my courses so that I get the most out of my four years at Oak Grove. I have had several teachers that clearly have a passion for teaching and that also deeply care about their students. The best teacher I have ever had cares more about preparing us for our future than just getting a good grade on the next quiz. Although grades are important, she wants us to be able to think for ourselves so she challenges us. One of the things that I would like to see changed is the amount of college visit days that are allowed to juniors and seniors. As a junior, you are only allowed one day to visit colleges where an absence will not count against you. Junior year is the year when students really start thinking about where they want to apply and need to be able to go on college visits without worrying about absences.
Best school in Lamar County, in my opinion. There is a shortage of teachers in the area but for academic purposes, the school does a really great job focusing on teaching and fullfulling a students’ needs. Oak Grove also provides Advance Placement, Honors, and Duel Credit classes for students who are wanting to get a heads start on college credit. There are many clubs and activies to choose from throughout the year. Teachers, faculty staff, and the administration are helpful towards parents and students. Overall, the school is a great public school for teenagers; but, there has been complaints about the cafeteria food.
