Oak Forest Academy is a private school located in the small town of Amite, LA. OFA grades range from Pre-K3 to 12th grade. The close nit school is rather small compared to others with approximately 900 students but growing. Oak Forest got its name because it was build on what one was a forest of oaks planted to later be cut down for lumber. The school is tucked in the perfect place right next to town but not in the middle of all the traffic. OFA is recent years has had a high success rate for athletes but are known for there great education. 98% of all OFA students have graduated their senior year. The 2017 graduating class with only 52 students had a total 2.2 million dollars in scholarship money, 5 valedictorian, and 3 salutatorian. The over all view for Oak forest Academy is a great school to send your children wanting them to get the best education possible but also giving them the freedom to play sports and learn not only school work but live lessons along the way.

Oak Forest Academy has been my home for 12 years now, and I couldn't imagine going to school anywhere else. Being a private school, students and faculty alike feel safe and secure. Oak Forest also has one of the best academic programs in the parish. Second to academics, Oak Forest's sports are excellent as well. The school finishes in the top 5 teams in every sport. I have throughly enjoyed my time at Oak Forest Academy, and I look forward to finishing my high school chips education there.
My overall experience being at Oak Forest is so far so good. I love the community and relationship each parent, student, and teacher have with each other on and off school campus. Everyone has an overload of support behind them when being a Jacket, especially student-athletes. The sports are very impressive and very well funded. Being a student-athlete myself, I can say the facilities are very nice, every coach is very involved, everyone is like family, and each team produces good results each year. The only thing I would like to see change in future years to come, is the variety of classes a student in high school can select from. Yes, we are a small school, yes we have a limited amount of teachers, but I think there should be more educational opportunities to students when deciding which classes they 'd enjoy taking to obtain all their TOPS credits.
