I have had the opportunity of starting NYOS charter school since the first grade and I have had the best experience! Not only are we are small campus but the most I have enjoyed are the teachers and being able to have the same teacher for two years through out my elementary and middle school years. As I entered high school my teachers made the transition very easy by supporting my fears and insecurities to various changes. With their support I was able to grow and become my own person. The only downside I would say about NYOS is the lack of after school programs or clubs. I would like to see more clubs for the students to participate in, for example glee club, choirs, dance, or chess. If NYOS added some form of the arts to the curricllum NYOS would be one of the greatest schools in Texas!

Not too big not too small, just the right size for students to have easy access to teachers and for teachers to pour into students academically. This school embraces individuality and accepting of students from any background. As a former student I can assure you how much the teachers put effort into making sure students are prepared for college.
NYOS Charter School is a place where any child or teenager can go to experience school in a way never before. Being focused on academics, the school itself is excellent in college prep in terms of work load and resources. The small student to faculty ratio provides for 1 on 1 teacher relations and virtually eliminates bulling of any kind. You can also ride out with the school system starting from kindergarten, which allows for even more relations among the students and teachers to be made. But even if you don't start soon, students are overwhelmingly welcoming on each grade level to new students of any background, leading to my full recommendation of NYOS Charter School.
