At first, I did not what to attend this school but gave it a chance and it was the best decision ever! The teachers are amazing and help out so much and make me feel that school is a second home. Not to mention the principal, counselor, and office staff are always looking out for their students and helping out academically. Awesome school that pushes you to a rigorous level to be ready for college!
I've been at this school since my freshman year of high school. The school does try to prepare its students for college, offering a lot of help and resources for those who need it. I'm in my final year at this school and the college readiness really shows. The teachers try a lot to motivate the seniors to stay on top of their work. The school has many things going for it but what really sets it back is the food that is offered. Lunch for students is a very important time to socialize and eat, but the food sometimes is disgusting. They have tried to fix this problem over the years constantly by asking students for feedback and letting the students try other lunch programs and having school surveys about the lunch. Nova puts a lot of effort to improve the quality of food for the students.
Nova Academy is a great school overall, it is a very safe school and the environment feels really great. The teachers are very dedicated and are always willing to help students during class and after school. The school has a unique class that is called family which students are in for four years and a bond develops and they really do become like real family members. There are opportunities to take college classes in the school as well as in the near community college which can help in the future. They do lack in clubs and activities however, students can always start new clubs. There are few art classes and not any music classes so that is something I wish could change. Overall it is an enjoyable campus where I look forward to go everyday.
