Notre Dame Jr./Sr. High School provided me with the necessary skills to problem-solve, be creative, work collaboratively and to excel by working independently. As a prep school, I believe I am fully prepared to be academically challenged, to remain organized, disciplined and that I am academically prepared to succeed in college. Teachers and administrators are passionate about their professional roles as instructors and leaders. They have been excellent adult role models for me. I am proud to have had the educational opportunities while at Notre Dame, that many neighboring schools could not offer me, such as NJROTC program where I became very involved in providing extensive community service hours for both school and community; as well as the ability to freely pray while at school and develop a closer relationship with God. I aspire to continue to volunteer and provide community service hours throughout my adulthood, because I have learned that helping others is very gratifying.
I have attended Notre Dame Schools since pre kindergarten. It is a private, Catholic school located in Utica, NY.
What I love most about attending Notre Dame is the close friendships that I have made. I am graduating with 5 of my best friends that have been by my side since Kindergarten. We have gone through Kindergarten graduation, 6th grade graduation, First Communion, Confirmation, dances and balls, Christmas and Halloween traditions and so much more. It is an honor to be able to graduate high school together as well.
Another aspect of attending Notre Dame that I enjoyed was that we not only learn about core, STEM classes, but we learn about religion. We learn about God, how to pray, how to be an asset to our community and we learn about respect. We develop relationships to last a lifetime with our peers, our teachers and the Church.
The one disadvantage ND has is it is small. We do not have some of the programs and resources that are available in public schools.
