An all-boys Catholic high school, Notre Dame graduates exemplify Character, Compassion and Confidence. The school’s Catholic, Holy Cross mission is to educate the minds and the hearts of its students.

Our Signature Programs include Freshman Academy, Leadership, Moreau Honors, NDXL (eXperiential Learning), Peer Counseling, Sports Medicine, Engineering and Design, Video Production, and the International Baccalaureate Program.

The Green Knights sponsor 15 sports and 24 highly competitive athletic teams, as well as award-winning Drama, Fine Arts and Music programs, and more than 50 clubs and activities.

Notre Dame students come from 73 surrounding towns. Train service via Metro North, Shoreline East and the CT Hartford Line includes a free shuttle between campus and the West Haven Train Station.

With an alumni brotherhood of 12,000 spanning the globe, the Notre Dame network is testament to the deep roots infused by four years at One Notre Dame Way.

The overall experience was great. Most of the students are rich and privileged which makes them difficult to get along with, at least in my experience. There are several instances which I can remember off the top of my head of people getting bullied and not much being done, particularly with the hockey team. This being said, I would say the good outweighs the bad. Pretty much all of the teachers will get along with you and try to help whenever they can, especially if you are well behaved in their class. Annual events like NDXL really are great, especially trips abroad which I was lucky enough to take part in. The only thing I would like to see change is teachers actually doing something when someone acts up in their class, and keeping the subject of discussion on topic, at least for the most part.

Review Notre Dame High School

Notre Dame High school is truly a special place. As someone who has gone to five different schools, Notre Dame is by far the best one. What sets Notre Dame apart isn't its great academics or competitive sports, but its culture. Notre Dame is the only high school in the world where the entire building is just one large community of brothers. Every student knows each other, as well as the teachers at a personal level. We are all seeking improvement, excellence, and to make a difference. Walking into the building feels like walking into home. Above all, Notre Dame aims to create Notre Dame men, which are men who are compassionate, serving, hard-working, and competent. Each faculty member in the building understands this goal and guides students to it. Notre Dame has something to offer everyone, from sports to academics to even clubs, there is plenty of room for personalization and growth. Overall, the best way to describe Notre Dame is a supporting and caring family.

NDWH is a very special school. I've never seen teenage boys be so supportive of one another in and out of the classroom. The teachers are excellent and keep the boys engaged. The new International Baccalaureate designation is a result of a forward thinking President and administration. The Moreau Honors program for Freshmen and Sophomores is unique blending of English, Religion and Social Studies into collaborative projects. Graduates have gone on to several top Universities. There are several clubs and the school has carved out time during the day for athletes to participate. ND has several good athletic teams but the sports facilities are lacking due to the land constraints.
