The young women at NDSJ are well-prepared for college academics and equally well-prepared for public speaking, community outreach, and succeeding past high school. Our daughter's experience was welcoming, supportive, and intellectually challenging at a time when young women can be surrounded by pettiness and being ignored. She learned in a diverse and compassionate community. Attending Notre Dame was one of the best choices she's made and we are thrilled with the outcome! Ora et Labora! Kudos to Notre Dame!
This is our daughter’s and the best decision we made was to send our her to ND. This shelter in place has solidified our decision! We are impressed by the professionalism and quick action the school community took to transition to the online platform. Well done everyone!
Other questions we have received about being at this school is...
1. How do we feel about the downtown location? It’s really great. The girls are given practical advice when venturing off campus for snacks and they take full advantage of DTSJ.
2. What’s the homework load like? Not bad at all. My daughter took four honors classes her freshman year and was able to stay on top of it. As a sophomore, she’s picking and choosing the classes where she wants to challenge herself.
3. What are the strengths of NDSJ? There are many, but the admin, staff, and teachers are all incredibly helpful and understanding. The counseling department is dedicated to the WHOLE student as an individual person.

Notre Dame is a very supportive community, but the academics are not as high as they make it seem. There tends to be a general trend to the aspect of average performance is okay; they give great support and encouragement to average students, but they hardly push students to take challenging classes and aim high in college choices. The teachers are often not good, and counselors pretend to hear students concerns and complaints only to brush them aside. If you want an easy high school time, this is a great school for you, but if you are looking to be challenging academically, for crying out loud please go to Presentation. Or have a sex change and go to Bellarmine.
