Notre Dame High School Reviews
My disappointments:
Multiple teachers called me rude for asking about my grades; many teachers accused me of plagiarism even from foreign websites.
In 2020, ND stopped giving out + or - for official grades. Why? Because they don't want students to feel bad about themselves.
ND cancelled its Julie Billiart Scholar award ceremony after 2021. This scholar group depended on Middle School GPA, a high HSPT score, and continued 3.5ish+ GPA in high school. An amazing way to recognize high achievers, thrown away because of "mental health."
Salutatorian is NOT based on grades but based on popularity, like leadership positions in the school. Petty administration handing out detentions for wearing overcoats. Many issues of racism- teacher insulting my ethnicity, etc. Pros: Poor athletic resources BUT amazing coaches and college counselor; RETAKES.
Another aspect of ND that I value is its commitment to promoting diversity and inclusivity. The school's efforts to foster a welcoming and accepting environment for students from all backgrounds have not gone unnoticed, and I have personally benefited from the sense of community and understanding that these efforts have helped to cultivate.
The rigorous academic program at Notre Dame has challenged me to push myself and achieve my full potential, and I have been grateful for the support and guidance of my teachers along the way.
