As a student at Notre Dame, I feel that I am being properly prepared for college and what I will face in the world. For example, the Freshman Seminar class (which is not offered at many other schools) has taught me very important study skills and life skills that I can already implement and help me in my life. However, I do feel that the Spanish program could be better, I don’t think it is as great as some of the other schools in the area.
Notre Dame is special because you are provided small, challenging classes with hands-on learning. I can tell the teachers love what they teach and are always willing to answer questions whether in class or during tutorial after school. I also enjoy the sports and clubs that Notre Dame provides. I’ve never even heard of field hockey before I came to Notre Dame, or thought I would join a club that teaches you how to do origami. I overall feel like what makes Notre Dame unique is the close sisterhood. When a student is feeling down, we all try to make their day better whether we know them or not. As a freshman, I am truly blessed to go to a high school that provides an academic rigor, faith, and a variety of sports that provide me the best high-school experience possible. Go Spirits!
Notre Dame is an excellent school because you are provided small, challenging classes with hands-on learning. I can tell the teachers love what they teach and are always willing to answer questions whether in class or during tutorial after school. I specifically enjoy the science department because of the hands-on experiments and overall experience that the teachers provide. I also enjoy the sports and clubs that Notre Dame offers. Something that makes Notre Dame especially unique is the close sisterhood. We are all willing to help and encourage one another, even if we’re on Google Meet! As a student at Notre Dame High School, I feel like I have the qualifications to give an honest review on this private school in Salinas, CA. During our COVID-19 pandemic, you would want your child to feel safe at a time like this. Notre Dame’s teachers have been fair, kind and patient with all their students while also teaching and prepping us for college. Notre Dame has encouraged me to be more open minded and has motivated me to become the best person I can possibly be. Feeling safe during good and bad times with your teachers, friends and classmates while also getting the best education possible, is a win for my family and me. The best thing about Notre Dame is knowing that everyone in the school wants you to succeed whether it is in academics, athletics or art. I can say Notre Dame was the right and best choice for high school.
Such a great school! Administration does not meet expectations sometimes but otherwise, everyone is welcoming and accommodating of your needs.
Notre Dame was an amazing atmosphere to go to school in but the schools math department lacked in teaching skill and all around preparing students for harder math levels. The science department was amazing as well as English.
I've loved going to school here for my time in high school. I am currently a senior and because of the academics offered here, I feel extremely prepared for college. I love the safe campus environment that is fostered by the students and staff of this school. The people here are great and really encourage individuality and success for everyone.
I absolutely love it. There are so many clubs, sports, and activities around campus all the time. One of the things if always found interesting is the opportunity to start your own club/ sport if it is not available. There is a new friend everywhere you turn and the different people never cease to amaze me. Every morning I walk in campus, I feel happy, safe, and blessed to be part of the Notre Dame community.
Notre Dame prepares women to achieve. However, administration clearly has been too lenient lately. Students take advantage of their privileges.
Notre Dame is a very welcoming community! Though it is smaller than most, girls are given the ability to broaden their knowledge on certain topics and connect with teachers on a personal level. The traditions are kept alive by the spirited students.
I attended public school up until high school. I was valedictorian of my eighth grade class but then I stared a college prepatory private high school. I felt like I was drowning in my social and academic life. However, I stuck it out, tried my best, and have never been more ready to take on the world. I have succeeded academically and grown as a young woman. I would not have achieved this anywhere but Notre Dame.
Good education, and excellent teachers. Many clubs and sports options. However, the food is not good and as a parent, you'll need to work closely with administrators to make sure your children receive everything they deserve.
Bullying is rare. Most students are accepted, but that could be because most students have similar personalities and there is very little diversity at the school.
This school is very challenging and pushes you to be the best that you can be.
Most teachers are great, and all truly care about both the academic success, extracurricular success, college acceptances, and personal struggles of the students. I went through a lot of stuff in high school and many teachers supported me.
I have not seen any acts of bullying around campus. We pretty much accept the diversity of the students and appreciate it. The administration is always caring for he student body. One time it flooded (there is no way to fight against nature) due to heavy rain, that we were let out early for our safety. Gates are surrounding our campus ensuring no one dangerous cones in. One thing that our achool lacks in is a school nurse.
There are great extracurricular activities that can be demonstrated through leadership, talents, and interests.
