Most of the schools in the area often treat the students as a number and focus their resources on just the most talented student. But here at Notre Dame Cristo Rey high school, each student is treated more than a number and is treated like a family member. Each student is pushed to be the best they can be and the school encourages their students to strive to be better. The teachers here truly care about the students by staying after school for extra help or assistance. When you come here to Notre Dame Cristo Rey high school you become a member of a family. The school to me is like a second home and has a welcoming environment. There is no school in Lawrence that can compare or even match-up.

In my opinion it's a school that resembles Darwinism more than anything else. If you can survive the struggles of being here, than you'll be all set for college.

If sports and arts are something you're looking for in addition to academics, than I recommend participating in outside of school organisations like Top Notch Scholars, Boys and Girls club, Lawrence Community Works etc. because the school itself cannot offer much in terms of arts, clubs or sports.
As a senior at Notre Dame, I appreciate all that the teachers do to have their students succeed. We have tutors and CASA after school, a place where we can go to get homework done and ask for extra help. Although the school can be challenging, there are many staff members who want to see their students learn.
