NDA is an overall good school. There was an administration change which was both positive and negative, with the new principal being so great but other administrative positions being a little shaky. The school is a little strict about the phone policy which gets annoying, but they do attempt to give us treats here and there. The teachers are good some being better than others, and they try to foster a positive environment which is great. I have had tons of laughs at NDA and it has been great. If anything I think the administration should try to relate to the student body a little better and really see how competitive NDA can be. Overall, I have enjoyed my experience at NDA!
I would consider my experience at Notre Dame Academy to be positive. I transferred into the school in my sophomore year following the 2020 Lockdown since my other high school went completely virtual. I knew that wouldn't be the right environment for me, so I switched to NDA because they were entirely in-person. Looking back it was the right decision. The highlight of my experience is definitely my fellow classmates, as we had an amazing bond with each other. I found so many new friends and opportunities for growth within my class, and I am so thankful to have met all the girls I did. The worst parts of my experience are the lack of stability and lack of communication. I did not have the same guidance counselor for more than a year and newer staff members seemed to be switched constantly. The communication issues between parents and administration were constant, and changes to policies and rules were made almost monthly. However, I would say my experience here was mostly a positive one.
The teachers are incredible here. However, that’s really the only redeeming quality. The administration treated student and parent complaints poorly or honestly, didn’t address them at all.
I really am grateful for my education here, however, the school needs to have a some awareness and accountability towards students that actively create harmful environment for others. It’s competitive and honestly, really isolating as a teenager to go here for that reason.
Honestly, I spent the last few years in therapy still trying to unwind what happened to me here and honestly, I still have major parts of it blacked out.
I wouldn’t recommend sending your child here.
