Norwalk High School Reviews

Norwalk High School provided me with many opportunities to pursue my dream career, nursing. The staff that I have come into contact with have always been very supportive, and they push you to be your best and use critical thinking skills. As long as you show you are a committed student and network within the school, you have a plethora of activities, part-time jobs, and internships that you will be informed about. I also love how diverse our school is. As a senior, in my entire K-12 student career, I've only had two black teachers. They were both strong females and they inspired me to push past social barriers that I've faced in school. Norwalk High does have its problems, like every school, but with the support of staff and more representation, I do believe that those problems can be solved.
Norwalk High School was definitely an interesting experience. My four years there were filled with their fair share of ups and downs but it was 100% a positive high school experience. Some of my favorite parts were the few amazing teachers I had that showed their love of teaching kids. Also, the sports that I was involved in gave me life long friends and allowed for my competitive nature to roam free. Some of the worse experiences I had were the few teachers that made school a pain and made it harder for us as students to actually want to learn. Some change I would want to see is from the administrative standpoint of actually listening to their students about teachers that have several complaints from students and to take action.
This school year is my last year at Norwalk Highschool, for the last 3 years I had an amazing year, and some bad. I learned a lot about myself and who I am. Being at Norwalk High School teaches me a lot of things. I learned that I'm someone that likes to push myself to work harder, instead of saying I can't accomplish that or do this. I've challenged myself to keep going. I learned that it's not about if you can do it or not, it's about the amount of work you put in. I was scared to take AP and Honor classes because I thought I wasn't smart enough for those classes, but I had some amazing teachers that encourage me to take them, and I'm glad that I took them because I learned that you don't have to be smart to do something or learn somethings it's about the effort you put it and show yourself you can do it.
