NYHS has been a great choice for our son. We love the small class size, which enables each student to receive the full attention of every teacher.
The teachers are excellent and the course offerings are challenging and adaptive to the interests of the students and faculty. In a small school, teachers are able to request and read multiple drafts of every essay, fostering the development of high level writing skills. The teachers make themselves available during lunch or after school, ensuring that students with questions are able to have them answered in a timely manner. The campus itself feels like comfortable home, with beautiful and inviting spaces both indoors and out, and even space to garden and raise chickens and bees! The school is deeply invested in college prep, and is highly interactive with parents in supporting the application process. We could not be more pleased with the education our son is receiving, both the Judaics and the general education components, at NYHS.

My son is now in college and when we reflect on high school, we couldn't be happier and prouder that he went to NYHS. This year, our youngest is at NYHS. This is a very special play or Jewish teens to learn and grow. Every teacher is a mentor. No student falls through the cracks and every student has a voice. They take student agency very seriously at NYHS. Students have a lot of opportunities for leadership that they wouldn't get elsewhere. The dual curriculum enhances students' ability to think critically and analyze information. Such important skils. My children love being Jewish and have a lot of pride in their heritage, regligion and culture. My son was uber prepared for college and is attending a relatively competitive one. He's thriving on campus academically and socially. Already he is involved in campus life which many of his peers aren't yet. Thank you NYHS teachers and administrators, past and present.
Exceptional faculty and students. Cannot praise this school enough. The teachers and administrators care about the students fully, mind and spirit. They are the best role models and foster an environment of love of Judaism and academic pursuits. The kids are accepting and welcoming of their peers. The level of quality in instruction and academics, Jewish and secular, is very high and there is a warm and fun atmosphere that pervades. I’m very glad this is where our child will spend high school. She is being well prepared for college but more importantly, for what lies beyond.
