There were some bad instances here and there, but my overall experience was pretty good. One thing I can say about Northwest high school is that some of their teachers need to reevaluate how they choose to treat their students. The math teachers, especially, are very rude to students who do not understand material. Some kids will listen to the instructions and still won't understand. If a student asks you how to do a certain math problem, and you respond with "you should know this," what is the purpose of having you on staff? Obviously, the student doesn't know, so help them. Adding on to this, it seems like teachers don't realize how hard it is for some students to ask questions or speak up about something they don't understand. That being said, why would you respond to them with such an attitude? The same teachers who send students to the office for having an 'attitude' are the same ones who give one to their students on a daily basis.

My last four years at Wichita Northwest have been incredible! From the day I enrolled, to the day I am graduating, it has been an amazing experience. Everyone, especially the administration and staff, welcome people with open arms and an opportunity to further our education. There are also many ways to get involved with our school, including creating your own clubs. I cannot say I would change anything about Northwest. Though administration may seem strict, I have come to understand their goal is to keep us safe, and forwarding our career paths. I will miss being a grizzly!
Overall I would say that I have had a positive experience at Northwest high school. Teachers and counselors are willing to provide help and offer assistance to self motivated students. The food is awful, I will not eat it, but this is true for the entire district. They also don't seem to know how to work the thermostat as it is either freezing or extremely hot. The administrative staff seems to be more concerned about the ill performing students. This is true for the entire staff, there seems to be a culture of dragging ill performing students along just so they can graduate, no matter how much they have to dumb down classes.
