I like that it is a very large and diverse school, however I feel that administration should listen more to the students. I feel that there is a large disconnect between staff and students regarding decisions and activities happening at the school. Students need to have a say in how their school is run because after all, the school is there for us! Many of my peers are unhappy at how the school treats its students, yet we have no idea how to bring change. Sometimes change is needed and in this circumstance, change is imperative to ensure the happiness of the students.

Northwest Guilford High School is home to many brilliant teachers and dedicated staff who make life-long impacts on students. The teachers are passionate about their subjects to teach and help students. It has very competitive academics and many options for those in search of rigorous courses including AP courses and a dual enrollment program. There are many opportunities offered to be involved in the school and in the community through clubs and organizations on campus. It also has multiple amazing music programs including band, orchestra, and chorus, all of which have exemplary ratings. Northwest provides resources for students to use in order to achieve what they set their minds to and encourages students to do the their very best, try new things, and find their passions.
I graduated from Northwest Guilford this past year and I can genuinely say I miss my time here. Looking back on the last four years, the teachers really do mean to prepare you for college and help you in any way they can to help you succeed. This school has a wide variety of AP classes you can take as well as the ability to dual-enroll with the near by GTCC. A huge part of Northwest culture is the support and student involvement behind all of the sport teams. We are always a top contestant in all sports across the state. Our marching band is always one of the best in the state as well. The school also had very well put together dances such as Homecoming, TWIRP, and Prom every year, which are all a hit across campus. Overall, I really liked the culture surrounding Northwest and I was very blessed to have such a great High school experience.
