Northwest Christian School has been a good place to call home for the last several years. I’ve played sports, met friends, learned in my classes and have prepared for college. My teachers really care about us and have done so much for me personally as a student. I know I’m ready to pursue my degree in Business Administration for college. I’m applying to Grand Canyon University and look forward to finishing out my studies. I’m very thankful for the last four years at NCS and recommend it to anyone who wants to be at a solid Christian School.
Overall, I really enjoyed my time at NCS. The people are what make the school- the teachers, students, and administrators were great. My biggest complaint about NCS was the options for advanced coursework. If you are looking for a school with a strong AP program, this is not it. That being said, most of my classes were engaging and well-taught, particularly the honors ones. The work was not always challenging, but it was time-consuming (expect 2-5hrs of homework). Additionally, there are a limited number of clubs to get involved in, but if you make an effort, you will find plenty to do. Even if I may not have had all the opportunities that I would have at a larger public school, Northwest provided something great: it helped me develop a Christian worldview. Being surrounded by peers and teachers who continually pointed me toward Christ was what really made a difference in my high school experience.
I loved how the teachers invested their time into each student. They genuinely wanted to have a relationship with each person, and classes are so small that it creates an easy-environment to learn and ask questions. I want to see more change in the student body because we are not as "together" with one another. Assemblies are not hyped because no one wants to get involved in school spirit. I want to see change within student council as well. There needs to be more input among students to allow a fair vote for things.
