I loved this school all 4 years. Although I experienced a total of 3 different principals and constant change of teachers, I loved the little atmosphere of Christian students trying to learn. Every teacher strives to see you succeed and all of the staff truly care about each individual and the students are very friendly as well. I grew so much in this school, academically, spiritually, socially and physically (since I did sports every year). I suggest going into a sport as an oncoming freshmen in order to develop that tight connection between team mates and coaches. Loved it here!
I like the Christian environment and fact that the teachers care about the students. What I don’t like is how the school focuses on rankings in sports and extracurricular activities rather than in academics. There are banners about awards in sports all around the school yet none for academic achievement. There isn’t much academic competition either. A school is supposed to be to learn not to play sports. Also, there are irrational policies like requiring four classes each year to graduate, whereas in public high schools, you can enroll without taking any classes and still graduate. If you are looking for a well rounded school that is reasonable and strong in academics, I don’t recommend this school.
The teachers at Northwest Christian honestly care about the students and want them to succeed. They encourage students to do their best and challenge students when necessary. Help is offered if and when needed, and great resources are available for students.
