We are a school that derives our uniqueness from providing curated experiences that spark and nourish self-guided exploration, continual improvement, creative thought and action, and deepening connections with the surrounding world—all in an atmosphere that is joyful, welcoming, and gracious.

We believe that a curriculum featuring engaged academics partnered with a full arts program lays the foundation for students to emerge as self-directed, expressive, and curious life-long learners.

Located in downtown Portland’s cultural district, our community participates in many cultural and academic activities offered just outside our doors.

When they graduate, our students go to colleges and universities all over the country & world fully prepared academically with a creative mind and skill set that Northwest Academy is recognized for.

STRONG ACADEMIC AND ARTS PARTNERSHIP

Our arts and academic partnership promotes an environment in both arts and academic classes where a student’s multiple intelligences can flourish. Through their arts experiences, our students acquire skills and strategies–such as attention to detail, self-discipline, self-awareness, and risk-taking–that help them succeed in their academic classes.
