It’s difficult to put into words the changes Northville has endured over the years. Beginning with the passing of two classmates who took their lives and ending with the COVID-19 pandemic, Northville has done it’s job in assuring all students feel safe and cared for. In addition to this, NHS has an extremely inclusive community of students. Being apart of the various special education organizations that NHS has, I am proud to say that bullying of those with special needs is almost unheard of these days. It is now deemed to be ‘cool’ taking part of these programs and that is extremely exciting! Overall, NHS is a wonderful school with some of the best staff and students you will meet.
Overall I would describe NHS as a great school for anyone who is highly motivated and prioritizes their education. Many people who attend are very self-motivated and competitive, so that is one factor people should consider. I have really liked my experience at Northville and have no large complaints!
NHS has been excellent in its response to COVID-19. A virtual and hybrid model was offered at the start of the 2020 school year and has carried forward unless the stated health department shut it down, as what happened in November 2020. I have siblings with children in other school districts in the state and their district remained mostly virtual until recently (as of this week). The Northville superintendent responds to situations accordingly. For example, does not close school when it snows a couple of inches and informs parents of any COVID cases at the school without shutting the school down entirely. I moved last year from southeast CT and I have been very pleased with the Northville Community. The NHS offers many courses to its students, including IB, AP, Honors, business, Votech at LCTC, internships, several world languages, and the standard choices. In addition, there are tons of extracurricular activities, clubs, etc. for the student to participate in. No complaints.
