If you take classes at NSA, I would recommend transferring science credits from outside and being inactive on their platforms.
Pros: NSA offers a lot of APs, many that I would not have had the opportunity to take otherwise. They have NHS, a great guidance team, teachers are generally pretty nice, and asynchronous pacing means that I can take classes despite living abroad. They have student council and other opportunities as well!
Cons: Where do I begin? The school is essentially an echo chamber. Those with more liberal views are commonly jumped on by others, and the student environment is pretty toxic. Science classes are pretty awful (I used the Apologia books), and they can treat science like some kind of anti-God conspiracy, making inaccurate arguments against evolution and climate change. The classes can be too easy. As someone in a previous review said, there are a lot of 'fluff' religious assignments that inflate grades. If you aren't a practicing Christian, you won't like it.

I’ve been attending NorthStar for almost three years, and it’s been a wonderful experience! Even though NorthStar is an online school, it has a great social community, where I’ve been able to chat and make friends with students in six different continents. NorthStar’s courses combine rigorous academics with a foundation in the Christian worldview, and their self-paced scheduling allows students to take part in experiences and activities that a firmly-set school schedule would make difficult. I’d definitely recommend NSA to those who are considering online schooling as an option!
NorthStar Academy (NSA) is an awesome school. I joined in the fall of 2018 and I loved it from the first days. The teachers are amazing, the courses are fun, and NSA has a place where you can chat with teachers, classmates, and make new friends. One of the best things about this school is the flexibility in courses. You can work whenever, however, and wherever you need to! Those with busy schedules can work at night or early in the morning. My personal favorite thing is the social aspect. Meeting new friends is so much fun! You have friends from all over the world! Another thing I love is the groups you can be apart of. NSA has a Student Council which is super fun! You get to be a leader and attend meetings and such while being in the comfort of your home. Overall, NorthStar Academy is superb! Once you join you won't regret it!
