Northside High School Reviews
Rating 3.97 out of 5 357 reviews
Northside High school is a very diverse school. Its diversity is what fueled its ideas and compassion. There was never a boring day at Northside Highschool, and many teachers were there to help students in any way possible. The coaching staff at Northside is nothing like I've seen before. I was blessed with the opportunity to meet a coach that brought me to the next level. I will say I wish Northside was more open to change and had more resources at hand. Sometimes Northside would be short-handed, and the teachers seemed overworked. Students' ideas were often shut down because the staff was afraid of controversy and conflict, which downplayed students' creativity and passion.
Sophomore year was the best for me since it wasn’t impeded by Covid. All in all, the teachers are very encouraging and they do their best to keep us safe and happy. I believe the academics are great. I was in advanced classes, and I felt pushed in each class I took. They celebrate student accomplishments and provide opportunities for students to get involved. The band program is great and they really provided resources to prepare you for auditions and etc. There is plenty of diversity. A con would be that because of some student behavior they locked bathrooms, and cut down on WIN (what I need), an opportunity for students to get the help they needed. I believe that because they cut down on this and had a schedule that changed everyday it impacted my senior year. Overall I had a good experience despite Covid ruining aspects of junior year and some of senior year.
Northside High School honestly blows my mind. At Northside we're literally like a family. Years after years people graduate and are still considered a grizzly (our mascot). The enviornment is unbelievable. Our teachers stride to help us excel not only in education but in life as well. Many of them are like another parent to several students. It is nice to have other adults look out for our best interest. Aside from the teachers, the students who attend Northside make the highschool experience so much more enjoyable. The school spirit you witness from the students is amazing. Friday night football games........ something you NEVER want to miss. By far the best student section in Arkansas. You can not visit Northside High School and leave with negative thoughts.
