Northland Christian Schools Reviews

Northland Christian High School overall was a place that allowed me to become the best version of myself. Through rigorous academics, numerous extracurricular activities, and faith-based education, I was able to not only grow in my academics but wholistically. They provided ample opportunities for leadership and student involvement. I participated in NHS, Student Government, The SuperIntendents Advisory team, dance and volleyball, and many others. The best thing NCS has to offer by far is the student-teach relationships. Every teacher knows you by name, knows your story, and genuinely wants to best for you not only in school but in life. The areas that need improvement are schoolwide communication, more athletic opportunities, and finding ways to make their student's needs feel heard and valued.
As a recent graduate here, I would say this school thrives on its teachers and their love for the students. I learned so much from the passion these teachers had for their subjects. However, the admin were little help and we were consistently led in “ask them” cycles when we wanted to address various topics, such as dress code and behavioral procedures. The Board would say they wanted to be active with the student body, but make little to no efforts to do so, outside of their own children’s classes (if their children were even attending). Educational Material in classes ranged from either the best resources a student could need, often with some bought by the teacher and not the school, or being told to use a code.org course for high school computer science. Health class was questionable at best. Events were amazing, mostly because Student Council was in charge of half of them and knew what the student bodies wanted.
I really enjoy going to this school. The academics are tough but they get students ready for college, (especially our high school English courses). It is a smaller school so students are able to have good relationships with their teachers. The teachers really care about the heart condition and life that their students live. We have weekly chapels with speaks from all over Missouri and the world, (missionaries). Great personal relationships with GREAT teachers. The girls and boys volleyball, basketball, track, science Olympiad, and scholar bowl teams are open to high school students and middle school students in their own divisions. We also have merged our cheer squad and football team with St. Joseph Christian. There is after school care for elementary school students and a spring musical which is fantastic! It is a big production and a great opportunity for 5th grade students too 12th grade students. Ultimately Northland Christian wants to learn, love, and lead the world to Christ.
