My experience at NEW Lutheran had its good and lesser points. There was a tendency to overemphasis of chapels and conservative Lutheranism in general instead of rigorous STEM classes. There could also be stronger efforts in a strong liberal arts (classical education) base in growing the variety of electives like the CAD class and finance. Many Teachers were excellent and impartial, aided by small class sizes, creating a positive community for learning. I will agree with others that sports took a much greater focus than the fine arts. Unfortunately, as great as the extremely small size was it provided little diversity and inherent cliquishness.
My experience here has been great. The atmosphere is like a community and a family. I know each person's name and the teachers know who I am. Sports are a big thing here and everyone is included, no cuts. The only thing I dislike is the inconsistent dress code. Overall, an excellent school to get a great education.
This school strengthened my faith at the same time it increased my knowledge academically. The small classes allowed me to learn to the best of my ability. The athletics through the school taught me many leadership skills that will help me through life.
