It can be very difficult for many students to transition into their high school phase of life. Many students struggle to find a place to fit in. Fortunately, Northeast Magnet offers many opportunities to meet and work with their student body. With a total student body of about 700 people, new students are bound to find a place among others due to the unique climate presented by Northeast Magnet. Northeast is rich with diverse cultures and people with varying interests. There are many clubs that are available to students. Many students take part in their respective base schools sports which creates a fun yet competitive atmosphere throughout the year. All students are even encouraged to participate in their class meetings as well as take part in class competitions bringing a sense of unity to all students in their respective grade level. The opportunities Northeast Magnet offer make it the perfect high school for many who fear their next big step in life.

Northeast Magnet provides students with endless career and college preparatory programs. From offering students law, medical, and artistic courses, to proudly maintaining the highest ACT scores in the state of Kansas, Northeast Magnet is the high school experience that every child dreams of and deserves.

Select students are enrolled in Northeast Magnet High School through an application and lottery process. NEMHS prides itself with an incredibly diverse student body and staff of all backgrounds, ethnicities, religions, and family incomes selected in equal percentiles to create the most diverse atmosphere possible.

I am convinced that Northeast Magnet High School is the most positive, encouraging, and commendable high school environment in the nation. I am so thankful that I was randomly selected to attend Northeast Magnet High School, knowing that my high school experience positively cultivated me into the type of person I’ve dreamed of becoming.
Northeast Magnet teachers are wonderful in many aspects. They make learning and growth a priority as they successfully captivate the minds of their students and make learning an adventure. Not only do they teach well, but the teachers at Northeast care for their students on a personal level. Throughout my high school career, I have always felt close to my teachers and I knew that my success was genuinely important to them. Northeast magnet teachers make learning fun and challenging, but ultimately they care about their students.
