This school made me into an atheist. All the teachers are under qualified leaving me and many others at a loss when we got to college. I’d never bring my child into this environment , it’s simply an alternative for a hole to throw your kid in when they get bullied and have to switch schools. This school truly impacted my self esteem and made me feel as if I was nothing.
I have been here almost all my life so I love the teachers and students. Sometimes the staff has a little trouble understanding and relating to the students, but I would not want to be anywhere else!
NBS showed me that it's more important to get a haircut and be clean shaven than it is to be a real friend whose actually nice to people. They not only condoned, but supported bullying and teasing and most certainly did not demonstrate fruits of the Spirit like patience. If I wasn't already saved before going here, I'd have been so turned off by the hypocrisy I may not have even became saved. Luckily I very helpful friend of mine when offered the chance to enroll her daughter here was smart enough to take my advise and decline. Guess what, my friend and her daughter are doing great homeschooling her. As for the class subjects that weren't explained well at all here, the school and colleges I went to after this school gave me a better understanding of the subjects and now I can do stuff I never thought I'd be able to do. I could go on talking about the homework over holidays and summer break, the automatically believing that adults are always right and that only the students lie, etc.
Northeast Baptist School is a great way for students to get closer to God while getting a good education. The teachers really care about the students and they help encourage them in their walk with God.
You can go to any of our teachers to be prayed with. They are encouraging to their students and love our students.
Love that I am able to graduate a year early. This will save on tuition for my family, especially with my younger sister being a special needs child. I was able to count my sports (cheerleading, volleyball, basketball) as my physical education so I was able to take another core class which put me ahead of schedule. This year I am taking 4 of my classes online which teaches me self-discipline, time management, and self-accountability.
There are always things that can be improved or done better. But overall, our student policies are fair and consistent. The faculty is consistent and very helpful. They know every student by name and know almost all the parents of the students.
Our school does not have a football field, but we utilize a public school field. This year our team won the state championship. We have a strong sense of school spirit and pride from out K-3 students to our 12th graders, parents, grandparents and faculty. Our athletes and coaches do not have the top of the line work out equipment, but they utilize what they have, encourage and strengthen each other.
The junior high and high school students are required to have community service hours every 9 weeks. This forces the students to get out to give back back to their community and to also appreciate the blessings they have. The sports are all inclusive so any student can participate and be part of the team. We do not have clubs like some schools such as Foreign Language club, Science Clubs, etc. We are a small school, but very well-rounded. Rather than having dances, we have a formal event at the end of the year for high school students to be recognized for the academic achievements. The students look forward to this each year!
We filled out the application and registration information, received a tour of the school and was allowed to shadow before making the decision to transfer to the school. Then we met with the principal. At this point, we were able to meet with the principal which by this time she was able to confirm academic standings and performance standings with current school and was able to check our references. After we met with her she informed us that we had been accepted to the school.
Northeast Baptist is inclusive to allow students the opportunity to play every sport students want to experience. The teachers and coaches encourage Christ-like sportsmanship, competiveness, discipline, and self-control. The faculty of Northeast Baptist has helped me to achieve my goal of graduating one year early at the age of only 16 so I can begin my college career. They are so supportive and willing to help me succeed.
