North Star Public Charter School Reviews
Rating 3.77 out of 5 44 reviews
North Star is a very tight-knit community that was very scary to walk into halfway through my high school career. However, these students are welcoming to new people as they are used to having exchange students (which is a whole other grand experience in itself). Thought I was meant to be part of the IB Programme, I ended out being in the [obviously less favorable] Capstone Program. North Star is beginning the Business Associates program with all incoming freshmen and students so-forth. Personally, I believe this will be much more beneficial to the students and their future careers!
I was always comfortable with a smaller environment, such as North Star instead of a Public high school. I was able to build close relationships with everyone in my grade and some older/younger than myself. The best part of North Star was the educational opportunities that I was granted, as North Star is a demanding school with lots of difficult requirements. The worst part besides all of the homework was the negative relationships that came throughout the four years. Specifically in my senior year, I experienced a frightening experience as a junior at North Star was found stalking me. It put a burden on me and how I view myself as I have struggled with depression and self harm in the past. Although I encountered a variety of negative experiences at North Star, the positives heavily outweighed them and left me wishing I could go back to freshmen year and relive every moment.
Wonderful faculty and staff. Super supportive, friendly environment with good parent participation and top notch academics!
