North Shore Plaza High School Reviews

At our school, we offer an environment prepared for each child that includes a mixed-age community. Many of our activities allow children to work at their own pace, and a freedom to choose activities according to one's own interests and abilities.
I have had an amazing experience at Plaza. All of the staff are friendly, personable, and helpful. The students are a pleasure to be around as well. Though this school has many limitations regarding the classes it is able to offer on-campus, it is beginning to overcome this and satisfy almost any student's interests through offering many online classes.
North shore plaza is a wonderful school. I had left for one year and went back. Since then my grades have improved due to the teachers and wonderful atmosphere. Everyone is very nice and helpful. If I needed help with anything someone somewhere in the school could help. Everyone is local so we all know each other outside of school. Our sports program is wonderful. Even though we co-op with other schools there are students who still participate because of their love of sports. Our music program is wonderful. We may be small but our music is amazing. We work very hard to achieve what we do.
I like that most of the teachers are willing to give you all the help you need if you are willing to stay after and put the work in. They could definitely stand to accept some change, such as using different review methods at times, but overall a pretty good school.
We have these netbooks that are like 6 years old and they hardly work.
I really like how small the school is. I can get one on one help if I need it.
We have the basics. The extras we have we take over ITV. Some extras we have are Spanish, art, some advance or college classes and classes based off from the basic classes. Some of those might be chemistry, creative writing, or Indian studies.
We don't have a lot of clubs. We have sports, choir, band, and yearbook.
Every year we are supposed to have so many fire drills, tornado drills, and lock downs. But I think we only do the fire drills. We also don't have a school nurse but we do have a few teachers that are EMTs.
I love basketball season even though I don't play. During the school day we have gym and multiple hours of weight classes. In the fall we have football and volley ball but the spirit for that isn't that great but that is because we co-op with another school. In the winter we have basketball and during those games the gym is filled. Everyone in the community comes to those games. It is a big deal. During the spring we co-op for softball, baseball, and track. Baseball is a little more of a big deal because it is played on our field but not as big as basketball. Our fans really support basketball the last couple of years we have really had a good boys team and our fans love that.
In the last three years we have gotten a lot of new teachers We have gotten two new math teachers, two new science teachers, a new English teacher, three new music teachers, and a new gym teacher. So it has been really hard having to adjust over and over again so the grading consistency and teaching consistency really isn't there. All of the teachers we have gotten are right out of college so they are learning themselves so that is really hard on us so their knowledge is pretty low at first.
Most food is pretty good, but some is not.
I was very prepared for college with the help of our guidance counselor
