North Port High School is amazing and gave my life purpose. I loved waking up at 6:00 AM every morning knowing that I was going to enjoy my day. The school is full of interesting characters and even more fascinating teachers. In addition, they have a vast variety of extracurriculars and clubs; it would be difficult to not find on that satisfies any person's interests. I often found myself staring school at 7:30 AM and leaving at 8:00 PM because I was so invested. The education curriculum is superb as well, as the school offers AICE, AP, on-the-job training at STC, and even college classes you can take on campus at SCF. My few complaints about this school is the cleanliness of its campus. The school can have some difficulties remaining clean whether it is in the bathroom, the lunchroom, or even in the halls. Furthermore, the school food can occasionally be subpar, but at least they offer Free and Reduced Lunch. However, this school is excellent and I often wish I could attend again.
North Port High School provides plenty of opportunities for educational growth through various academic programs and clubs which help guarantee success. There is a variety of clubs for the diverse interests of the students which allow the student body to interact and shape the school community. An example of such a club was the Student Government Association where the staff would provide just the bare minimum amount of interaction, allowing the student members of the club to take initiative and make the courses of action they felt necessary when planning school events such as Prom. As part of Student Government, we also participated in local events such as the Poinsettia Parade. Overall, the school itself provides plenty of rigorous programs for college readiness and teaching the students independence in studies, as some staff was unable to help educate the subjects they were supposed to teach.
North Port High School has a great program called the AICE Program, which stands for Advanced International Certificate of Education. This program is ran by Cambridge College in England. North Port High School also has great college and career advisers. Other than that, the school honestly does not have all that much to offer. The teachers are mediocre and the majority of the classes are treated like a joke by the kids which makes it a difficult learning environment for those who actually want to learn. The campus is very old and does is not very appealing, however inside the classrooms is kept very nice.
