North Oldham provides students with excellent preparation for college. The staff works every day to provide a worthwhile education. The AP and honors classes are facilitated by amazing teachers. My experience in AP courses has been nothing but positive. The instructors prepare students for exams beyond the level expected to pass. North Oldham always surpasses the national passing average on AP exams. Occasionally, classes with nationally low passing rates achieve one hundred percent pass rates. The Math and Science department at North are exceptionally strong.

The staff is very supportive of whatever a student needs to succeed. This school is perfect for any level of student.

I entered North Oldham High School as a young, all-conforming girl. As I developed a unique, passionate set of political beliefs I began to notice how different I was compared to my close-minded classmates. There are many teenagers who have yet to learn how to choose love over hate, but the administrators work tirelessly to push a positive, accepting atmosphere across the campus and I'm incredibly grateful for their work. The staff cares about making personal connections with students, and most of them can address you by name in the hallways. Even though there is a major lack of diversity, the clubs offered are inclusive and supporting of the different students in our school. Overall, I've had an incredible happy experience.
The school itself is a fantastic, near perfect school from a government and state wide perspective. But from a personal one, it fails. The school system focuses way too much on money and their rankings, than the actual childern who attend. The consulers were a joke, and the overall administration were surprisingly average if not below average. I was bullied throughout middle and high school, and when I reported it to the correct avenues little to nothing was done. So when I got in a fist fight to defend myself at school, they not only suspended me, but took me to court where an assualt charge was put on my record. I was a victim, yet was treated with no respect or individuality.

On the plus side, the school does a great job at preparing the student for college. Academic wise it is one of the best. However, in my mind it is the only thing they do right.
