Absolutely great school and great community. Worth buying a home in this district just to have your children attend North Mianus School. My children had amazing teachers throughout their education and are way ahead of children who live in other premier school districts - and I attribute this to the school. What really sets NMS apart from other schools in Greenwich is the community - the children and parents are all active in making their community the best it can be -- and there is nothing quite like the annual Pow Wow. The school should be ranked higher -- as what is bringing it down is the diversity grade -- which is a joke as my children have friends Belgium, England, Argentina, Colombia, Singapore, Japan, Korea, and South Africa as well as many other forms of diverse students and families (in short, all are welcome and made to at home here).

North Mianus is a great school, and teachers were always ready to help and didn't have favorites. The principal and assistant principal were involved in the goings-on of the school, and would show the new students around. We had fire drills and lock downs regularly, to insure we knew the safety procedures. After school, their was "Afters" many programs that you could sign up for that enhanced learning, and taught skills not normally taught in school. If kids parents worked in the city, they were able to drop them off early for breakfast and pick them up late. The music program was also very developed and taught me a lot. The teachers could play every instrument they taught, and you could tell that they had lots of experience with music. You could join the chorus, the orchestra, or band. Overall, my experience at the school was great.
Pleased with experience . Teachers are great and my children love learning. Big emphasis placed on reading and social development. Love it that children get so much exercise/pe time -- especially good for young boys. Found administration and teachers to be very responsive and always available; communication is also excellent. One huge perk is the "afters" program that they have every day -- for a small fee, your kids can explore their personal and academic passions (or be exposed to them for the first time). One criticism is that I wish they began foreign language exposure earlier and did more for those children who are already bilingual.

We toured all the schools in Greenwich and chose to live in this district. Found Riverside and OG to be too elitist for my taste.
