The teachers are really nice, helpful and understanding. The worst part is the vice president who was racist toward me. I think the school should have more foreign language options like ASL, French, etc,
The school is a pretty nice community, and the zoo magnet program there is exceptionally good with a small community and a good learning environment, and vast experiences. The music department of the school is also the best. Though, the recent constructions of the school are very troublesome
I had a pretty average experience. The teachers there are good and generally care a lot about the students. I only ever had issues with one teacher and a vast majority of students disliked him. Lots of chances to get involved in extracurriculares and the community.
Well, to rate it I would give 3.5/5 stars. It is good academically and the counselors are helpful but the only downside would be how they don’t help aid senior students with planning for the future.
The best experiences I have with this school is that I’ve been amazing people who continue to be my friends. As well as a lot of challenging courses. The worst parts have to be the lack of volunteering opportunities as well as a couple bad teachers. I wish the school had more volunteering opportunities to help students get their hours. And I just hope that the teachers who are mean for no reason and don’t know how to teach see their mistakes and improve on them.
It's a good school that has many different opportunities for everyone. There's multiple academies/magnets that you can join and there's even more clubs that you can join (you can make your own clubs too! Clubs are a great way to make new friends who have things in common with you too). I was in the SAS academy (School for Advanced Studies) which would hold a lot of social school events and the teachers associated with that academy were amazing. Also, they're fully renovating the entire school as I'm writing this. One of the biggest renovations they're doing is re-building a completely new auditorium with a show choir room and a backstage area. As someone who was heavily involved in the performing arts at Noho and wished there was more, I'm really excited to see what's to come with that and I hope that more aspiring performing artists will consider Noho. Nonetheless, the school itself was great and if you're friends with the right people, it's a great school to join.
North Hollywood Senior High School is a welcoming school, they have some nice teachers who know how to do their job really well. You get to create amazing friendships at the school as well as create a friendship with the teachers as well. The college center helps you with any questions that you have as well as they do have opportunities for you to take advantage of such as college programs. They do have several clubs that you can join as well as programs with amazing advisors and tutors. The college center have amazing advisors that help you whenever you have any questions relating to college. Overall, it is a school that you can have a nice time in.
My experience at the HGM Academy at NHHS was my greatest year of education. I was learning at a pace comfortable for me and with a competitive group of students. The only thing I wish I were more exposed to were the past high school opportunities, such as high school internships, scholarships, and college readiness. I wish there were a personalized college counselor for every student or a forced meeting because I felt that I lacked that part of my life, having a college readiness counselor to push me to apply for more opportunities.
Being in the Highly Gifted Magnet has given me a different experience compared to others, as we have different teachers and a more rigorous curriculum. Because of this different experience, I have been able to meet some amazing people and make great friends. The HGM is all connected and we are like a big family which is my favorite thing. The worst part would likely be the constant fire alarms that are pulled, and it is pretty annoying whenever it happens. I would like to see more enforcement on this because it is also a safety hazard as now students are kind of conditioned to ignore these alarms.
I would like a modernized buildings because the school is very outdated and certain aspects are falling apart.
I have been able to make lots of friends and join several extracurriculars. I have had so many great moments and I am proud to be a husky. I love this school and every program in it. Amazing teachers too.
The school was alright but the only things that I did get annoyed by are the causal fires and fire alarm being pushed. The staff was decent and prom tickets are insanely expensive.
At North Hollywood, your experience truly depends on you. Resources are offered but not necessarily pushed toward you, it is your job to enroll in resources offered but when you do, they are all extremely useful and will help your school experience. It is the same with academics, you will only get the best teacher if you enroll in the harder classes, and even then there are many teachers who still fall short in doing their jobs. In terms of diversity, thanks to magnets and the NHHS school ranking, there are many students of numerous social classes, backgrounds, and races which creates a rich and diverse culture at the school. Personally, I believe the way NHHS falls short the most is in terms of safety, there are no strict regulations of items that are being brought in or out of school, and because of this, students have been and continue to be exposed to dangerous situations and staff does not always care to control them.
I liked the students and the teachers. The people experience of going to high school. Administration and coaches were not as professional. My counselor was awesome though!
I personally attend the Zoo Magnet at the North Hollywood Senior High School, which is a completely different experience from the main campus. I have had many opportunities to work eith animals hands on and have had access to many elective classes regarding animal sciences. The North Hollywood Zoo Magnet Center even has an internship program for seniors where they are able to volunteer as husbandry volunteers at the Los Angeles Zoo.
North Hollywood High School has many spirit weeks throughout the year. This school also has many talented and kind teachers. They are always helping students strive to get the best grade. Overall, this school is great and I am proud to be a part of it.
Safety on campus and a lack of diversity. I didn't feel that my teachers liked me just because I was the white kid.
