I love North High School! I have to say, we are the most diverse school in the Torrance District. We include all cultures and celebrate many traditions through different fun-filled clubs and activities! My experience here has been a blast and I cannot stress enough how amazing the staff is here. Teachers, counselors, principals, and the entire administration team is there to HELP and support us students. I hope that this review comes in handy to those who are looking to start high school or even if you are switching schools: North High is a great option! I'd even say the best! Good luck and do check out our Gold Ribbon school!

I love the diversity at North High School. We have a week of celebration of our many cultures here at North called Multicultural. Clubs such as Hispanic Culture Club, Indian Pakistani Sri Lankan club, Polynesian club, and many more, participate in a performance where they showcase the talents of the students, share the experience of their culture through traditional dance, and leave no room for exclusion whatsoever. On that same day of the performance, the multitude of clubs sell traditional food as another way to contribute their culture and love to the North High community.

One thing that could see some change, however, is school spirit. The lack of pride and energy is like a stench that lingers in every corner of the cafeteria, and is especially pungent during school spirit weeks. Barely any students dress up in holiday hats or their class colors, because there is a culture of "I'm too cool" at North High. In years to come, I would like to see that lackluster attitude changed.
North High is honestly a great school. Filled with a diverse group of people from all different cultures, we’ve established a whole new one, centered around acceptance, respect, and understanding for one another. While we may not be a school that is wealthy financially, we are rich in culture and people. Some of the teachers at North aren't equipped well enough to teach the students the life skills and source material that they need to succeed in college and beyond. However, what others see as a handicap, I see as an opportunity to work through adversity and become aware of the fact that you will encounter people in your future who aren't as readily prepared to instruct you on the realities of the world, forcing you to become independent and to make mistakes that'll benefit your overall character.
