North Harford High School is unique amongst the other high schools in the area. North Harford has a magnet program focusing on agricultural sciences; specifically plants, animals, and natural resources. The plant strand regularly worked in the greenhouse, and the animal strand would work in the barn. I was in the natural resources strand and we studied tree and plant identification, habitat sustainability, and wetlands. I loved the course material, and that it was much more involved than a normal school. We would regularly work outside and have class outdoors, and even worked with various companies to examine quarries and wetlands. I learned a lot about sustainability and natural resources. If I were to change anything, I would make some of the strands more open so students would be able to study all aspects of agricultural sciences, rather than their specific strand.

I transferred to North harford highschool my freshman year after being bullied at my old school. Going to this school changed my life and made me into the person i am today. The environment is so nice, and everyone is very welcoming, a huge difference from my old school. I don’t know what i would do if i never transferred and met the people i did and have had all the opportunities i did there.
The teacher's were dedicated and very well educated in their particular subject areas. The school spirit was great, everyone took pride in being from the middle of Nowhere. In comparison to other schools in the county, I believed I received a quality education. However, like anywhere there was a need for improvement of facilities as well as other educational resources.
