Now being an alumna of North Gwinnett High School, I look back at it as one of the greatest experiences I have had. In the four years that I had attended the school, I met a diverse group of people who have now are my closest friends. Secondly, I was taught by such a great teaching staff who prepared me for college by making the classwork challenging. Lastly, I did not only develop a strong relationship with the students while i was there, I developed a bond with the staff as well, and that is what makes me proud to be an alumna of NGHS!
Review North Gwinnett High School
North Gwinnett High School is one of the best high schools to attend if you plan on attending college. The AP courses, especially AP Literature, prepare students for college essays extremely well. The teachers are passionate about and good at their jobs make a big difference (even though there are definitely some who are not exactly great at their jobs). Though it is highly rigorous and places a little too much emphasis on the importance of getting into a difficult college, it is definitely worth the struggle because you will see results beyond high school if you work hard. Obviously, no high school experience will be perfect and this is definitely one of the more stressful schools to attend, but it was an overall more pleasant experience than not.
North Gwinnett High School has given me a home away from home: the doors, welcoming; the teachers embrace students with open arms. It brings to the table what so many other public schools and institutions lack....a connection on the personal level and a a spirit that envelopes and touches every student- a sense of pride and inclusion for all walks of life. It is ironic to see the shift in perspective: a freshman's dreading of an eternity of schooling, to a senior's regret of not doing more in, what is in reality, a sliver of a life yet to be lived. My appreciation for this school is beyond what words can spawn...I have seen such a dynamic change in both my academic and athletic performance in the past four years, all in credit to the harmony established between the staff and students, and it will truly be elicited experience.
