North Boone high school is a school filled with safe, smart teenagers. Whereas teenage pregnancies and drug abuse are common in the town over, North Boone takes pride in preventing bullying, enforcing sex ed, and demonstrating the effects of drunk driving. Assemblies are common, many celebrate the school itself, from its seniors in the end-of-year senior game show and college signing day to the teacher vs students volleyball games.
That being said, the school does have trouble keeping teachers from leaving. The state of Illinois has a lot to do with that, but either way, the academics and clubs or organizations offered to students aren't as plentiful or rigorous as other schools'. Internships, job shadows, and volunteer opportunities are available to the students and are regularly posted on the school announcements, but many students don't take advantage of them.
The environment at North Boone is better than at most other schools, but it does lack a sturdy academic department.

A good small school with caring staff. Everyone knows each other and there is a sense of community between staff and students. When I first came to this school I was able to make friends because of all the clubs and activities that they offer. The overall atmosphere is nice. The sports teams are good. The teachers care about the students and want the best for them. They have relationships with as many students as possible to help us all learn the best way possible. The facility is relatively new and everything is very nice inside. It has two gyms and I like that the whole school is mostly carpeted except for science rooms and the commons.
North Boone was a very unique school. I enjoyed going to school here. North Boone was a very welcoming school, we had a couple exchange students and our school was very welcoming to them. Our PIT Crew program accept students with disabilities and help them feel equal and graduate high school with no problem! I would change one thing about North Boone and that is helping the seniors with their last year, helping them prepare for college, fill out scholarships and fafsa.
