I am a current student at NAMS and being a sixth grader, well, it's amazing! Based on my elemetary school in the district, NAMS is way better. Not once have I seen bullying and everybody knows everybody and tries to include each other.
Although I would give the diversity in this school an F. When there's about 600 kids in the grade and there's approximatly 7 African-American children maybe ten children of chinese and asain culture. The teacher are all caucasian which isn't a real help to all the diverse kids.
This school can do better.

My daughter is an very above average student but this school wasn't letting her teach her potential. She attended this school in the 6th grade and was put in classes with kids doing basic math while she was exceeding an online algebra 1 course. She was also made fun of to the point where everyday she would come home crying. I tried to express this to the school and intervene but they didn't do anything. The school itself provides a sufficient education for an average or below average student, but won't provide any more advanced work for more advanced students.
I have to say that I am grateful for the technologies given to our school. We have smartboards, laptops, nice Mac computers, and a projector in all or nearly all classes. Our school is relatively new and so facilities are in good condition. Guidance counselors may be helpful but often times are just bound to the rules, which don't help the student in the end (sometimes).
