I am a senior at North Andover High School right now and I absolutely loved every day of being a high schooler. I am so thankful for everything North Andover Public Schools has done for me and so happy I chose to go to NAHS. I loved my high school experience and could not have imagined it any other way. I genuinely enjoy going to classes and the teachers are awesome. Many teachers here are very personal and are willing to connect with their students on a personal level and they all want the best for all of us. The sports here are great and all the kids are hard working and most kids are very welcoming and kind. If I could go back and be a freshman, I would do it all over again!
North Andover High is a great school. Since my freshman year, the counselors have been very helpful and resourceful. They helped me get comfortable and prepared my high school. The teachers and academics are also very kind and eager to help their students succeed. Our teachers also challenge us with higher level learning, and help us get the feel of a college routine. Through my experience, I've built relationships with multiple teachers and also got the help necessary to achieve good grades. The schools clubs and sports are numerous and has an opportunity for all types of children. There is almost no way a student will be left out with the various clubs proposed by the school.
I love the music teachers at the school (and everyone does!) I feel like having friends makes the experience worth while, and there’s always someone willing to talk to you, you just have to find them. Our school is a step above average, and I think we could use some more money. The guidance department has been frustrating for people during the pandemic/college admissions (2/6 guidance counselors are really good). The school could be cleaner. It’s time to ditch the trimester schedule. I am an average student and I’ve found it hard to reach out to teachers, especially since a lot of elective teachers are distant and don’t connect with their students. Most teachers in the school do, but some don’t. Overall I feel like this is a school where you have to work hard and be open to talking to people, in order to get anything out of it. You have to reach out to teachers, they can’t read your mind. North Andover High School is better than a lot of schools, but needs improvements.
