My four years at the Norfolk Aggie were some of the best of my life! Excellent hands-on learning in a variety of fields from marine science to forestry, welding, small engine repair, environmental science, livestock management, and many more! With both vocational and academic classes each day, Norfolk Aggie gives you a great balance of classes to keep you excited to come to school every day. There are also an abundance of clubs for everyone's interest such as Kennel Club, Adventure Club, Theatre Club, Agricultural Mechanics Club, Veterinary Club, and Floriculture Club. Afterschool sports are very popular and our teams are competitive, many times making it to state championships! On top of it all, the Norfolk Aggie has an amazing and welcoming environment. From the students to the teachers and staff, everyone at Norfolk Aggie is excited to come to school everyday and interact with one another. There is no better place to go to high school. Wouldn't change my experience for the world!
Getting to be hands on and.lear ing how to work with the animals was the best experience. You have to care for them and be present all the time. They always forgive, don't judge you, can challenge you, but still love you. Learning how to draw blood, bandage cuts, track ovulation, impregnate cows, shear sheep, and say goodbye makes you think about life differently. We had to send a cow to the slaughter because of tumors. We went to the slaughterhouse and Vienna was there. It was really sad to see her, but she was being put down so she would be in pain from all the tumors.
The worst part of school was COVID and having to be home. My teachers tried to help us learn, but it wasn't the same. How do take care of the farm, plants, animals, tractors from home. I feel like we lost two years.

The experiance is very different from any other school, allowing kids to dive into their interests with agricultural majors. (Animal Science, Enviromental, Ag Mech, and Horticulture). It provides a small tight-nit community that does a lot of events, with it being so small they offer many opportunists to volunteer and be apart of a community. But if you are looking for an academically challenging setting, I would re-consider coming here. The most challenging classes are Honors, there are no AP's, and the Honors are not very rigorous.
