Ah Noblesville--the place where I grew up and possibly the place I will die in. As I look back on my experience with Noblesville, I note two things: 1) wow, did it not prepare me for college and 2) wow, I'm glad I'm in liberal arts now. Noblesville High School seemed mainly focused on the basics of academics, which says something in the lack of social awareness my classroom culture had. Being a predominantly white school, this is expected. However, the lack of wanting to show more diverse opinions left my school in the dust when it came to different social atmospheres. We have an entire class dedicated to European history, but never ones on different cultures. I wish there was more dedication to promote learning of different cultures and societies in the world, instead of small mentions in world history. Creating a new world of consciousness in this rather closed in community would enlighten many of the students, which I feel is needed in this changing world.
Review Noblesville High School
My husband is a teacher at Noblesville High School, and all three of my children have attended or are attending NHS. It is a wonderful community, which cares about the students. The opportunities to experience the various areas of study to explore possible careers is exceptional. This is presented through class offerings and internship availability. I have a child with a chronic illness, and the support offered by the school is unwavering. Overall, NHS is a wonderful benefit to the Noblesville, IN community.
Noblesville High School is way too big and that really affects your child's education. Also their focus on just using technology, specifically iPads, for the past few years leaves a lot of children struggling. Not all children can handle doing their work that way and Noblesville really does not address this problem. At-risk kids are completely lost at this school with no help offered to them. While NHS has a great variety of classes to offer and lots of extracurricular activities it tends to focus on college which again is not for every child. It is way past time for NHS to be split into more than one campus.
