What I like about this school is that the teachers try to understand us, but they still need more help in understanding who we are and that time has changed and it’s so crazy how much it has changed. As well I like that there are really good teachers that actually like us and help us and try to make us feel welcomed and important. Out college prep teacher forced me to get it together lately because she knows I have a strong and bright future so this inspires me to be better without her speech and her amount to care I wouldn’t have been accepted to my dream college. Even though this school does need help and teachers need help to inspire us. There are kids trying every day to be better and to be a better future for our families and friends.

The school spirit has risen a lot since the CO 2019 came in and many teachers can attest to this. Pep rallies have been more engaging and fun for students, there are more student clubs. Students are increasingly becoming interested in university. I believe the school is rapidly moving forward since I joined the school but there are still a few problems. Some of the teachers do not teach, student clubs and organizations are not funded whilst thousands of dollars are allocated every year to the athletics department. Students do not have a place to meet and engage with each other before or after school. I recommend the school should redo the library to be more of a student life center and allow students to use the restrooms in the library because there aren't any nearby. The school should add a social sciences/humanities endorsement that includes an advanced year-long sociology and a human rights course and invest in theatre arts since that is becoming more appealing vs athletics.
My time at Nimitz had its ups and downs as any high school student. Throughout my years the one thing that remained the same was the teachers and coaches who wanted nothing but the beat out of us. During my 4 years you could see the entire culture of the school change, and it was way better when we left than when we got there. Everyone thought Nimitz was a school that wouldn’t amount to anything, but we produced state championships in academics as well as great success in sports. I love this school and just hope it can get back to the way it was when I was there.
