The buildings themselves that compose this school say quite a lot about it. Their roofs leak, causing extensive water damage. Many of the bathroom stalls have no doors. The soldering metals and other materials are used while the students are in their classrooms, and many of these materials become airborne. There is asbestos being removed from the buildings, and this is yet another health hazard(though this may not be being removed while the students are in the buildings.
This school's general lack of caring for the average student extends into nearly every facet of the student's life here at this school in nearly every way you can think of, and that is a primary reason for why many students hate going to school here.

I enjoyed my high school experience at Niles High School. I was most grateful for them offering a second type of learning style. We had the opportunity to enroll in a separate branch of NHS, which was Niles New Tech Entrepreneurial Academy. This was a project and problem based learning environment that allowed me to become especially proficient in presentations and group work. These skills are becoming exceedingly important in the modern world. I witnessed this first-hand as I got to college and became involved with projects and group work in class. I can proudly say that Niles New Tech and Niles High School successfully prepared me for college.
I loved all of the opportunities for dual enrollment and college credit that were offered to me. The teachers are willing to work with you if you contact them. The whole school was just redone, and there is air conditioning in all classrooms.
