I think that the school offers a wide variety of services to set students up for success in a way that is inclusive to people seeking alternative schooling. Online work allows paced learning and teachers offer insight and a level of understanding to the subject. The environment is professional and calm. Teachers are young, educated and kind. Principal is supportive and always listens to the student body. Only downsides are the students don't like participation and are sometimes careless because of the lenient environment. Doesn't offer a lot of extracurricular activities like other high schools. (Band, Orchestra, Sports)
NexTech High School was the best school I have ever attended. The teachers at NexTech will go above and beyond to help their students. Growing up I was horrible in school and believed I was stupid. The teachers at this school not only helped me grow my confidence, but they would work with me for hours. I would need help with my homework or studying for tests and they would be very patient with me, and would help me until I understood it.
Nexus Academy has a great objective in mind, but lack the supports of educated professionals to ensure the success of their students. Their special education and student services are greatly lacking. On site counseling should be available for students as well as more educational resources.
