The teachers at this school are very invested in the students. They not only work to develop them as students, but also as people. The teaching styles are always very engaging and various tactics are used to aid students in learning and comprehending concepts. Most teachers at Newbury Park are encouraging to students and very approachable to communicate with. They are understanding and will work with the students if they ask for more help. Most teachers are accepting of students' ideas. Many teachers attend sports games or activities or work events to support students in their extracurricular activities. However, some teachers are very bias in their grading when it comes to social, political, or other views. They grade purely on whether the ideas presented in the assignment align with their opinions on the topic. Aside from this, the staff at Newbury Park is absolutely wonderful and works hard to give students the best education possible!
There is a wide variety of extracurricular opportunities at Newbury Park High School. After school, students can participate in just about any sport. From baseball to football to water polo to volleyball - we have it all. We even offer lacrosse, tennis and more. For a student that prefers a more creative outlet, we offer theater, choir, dance and band.

At lunch, there are a wide variety of clubs available to students - over fifty! Whether a student is interested in computer games or community service or faith, there will be a club for them. We also offer clubs that are not offered at most schools, like fencing, horseback riding and mountain biking clubs. Our students at Newbury Park High School appreciate all that our school has to offer and we take full advantage of these extra curricular activities.
Newbury Park High School is unique because of it's amazing choral program and our choral director. Mr. John Sargent engages his students and encourages them to be the best person they can be. Through this program, I have traveled to Seattle, Washington to compete in a national competition. My choir came home with a first place, gold standing! This year, five choirs with a total of one hundred twenty students will travel to San Francisco, California. Being a part of choir has given me experiences that I will never forget!
