While attending Newburgh Free Academy, having a wide variety of fields for my future was definitely a given option. The school provides many features of careers through the multiple "houses" they provide students to have a say in what they want to participate in to prepare them for their near future. Also, through the school certifications can be earned and are good for a lifetime! I had an excellent experience and became college ready in no time, with a focus on their North Campus and studied Criminal Justice.

Attending Newburgh Free Academy opened me up to not only long-lasting friendships, but opportunities as well. I joined the Certified Nursing Assistant program here and did clinical at Sapphire and St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital. With the help my certain teachers: Mrs. Seipp, Mrs. Romano, and Ms. Corcorran; I bolstered with knowledge and passed my NY State examination to obtain my CNA License. I built friendships with teachers. These teachers provided me with confidence for not only my regents, but my future career/ college goals.
Here are some other experiences:
1. The diversity here is breathtaking. Take one look to your left and you'll see someone of a completely different nationality or ethnic background; It's exciting to be exposed of people from different backgrounds.

2. Free hot lunches. Usually people here don't have money to begin with, it is a financially desperate area-- so being able to come to school with a guaranteed meal is reassuring for any struggling individuals.
I loved my experience at Newburgh Free Academy (NFA). The administration and teachers were amazing. They are always there for you no matter what you need. Teachers work with you to help you. They are not there just for a pay check, but to see kids thrive and be successful. The only thing I would change would be the school lunches. They are average but I wish they could taste better. I know they make the food based off of health standards from the state, but that would be the only area that needs improvement and it isn't the most significant aspect of education.
