It's a very diverse school with so many caring teachers. However, as it is an issue all over the country, they are not paid nearly enough as they should. Our school district is so in debt and the administration just doesn't seem to care enough about their students. They've laid many teachers off in recent years which a school with, in some cases, over 30 students to a class cannot afford! they put too much pressure on their limited number of staff and do not provide them with materials needed to succeed.

My experience at Newark memorial high school was good. The staff there was very helpful in ways and the teachers there were very helpful when it came down to helping those who didn’t understand the material. I liked how Newark memorial involved the students by having their club day and also having events to support clubs there. For instance, there was an event for day of the dead that was by MEChA and Folklorico. Something I would like to see change is preparing the seniors for college. As for me, It was a bit hectic going from high school to college because everything is very different compared to being with the same people for four years and having less things related to work to do in high school compared to college.
I graduated from Newark Memorial in 2018, and I had a good experience overall in my four years there. I enjoyed the diversity of the school, and the very accepting community environment. Our counselor is very helpful and she not only encourages everyone to go to college, but goes the extra mile to help us with the entire process of figuring out the college decisions/application process. Overall, it’s a very typical school, with a lot of people who want to see you succeed.
