New Washington Middle/High School Reviews

New Washington is a very small school. The average class (grade level) has about 40 people. Because there are so few students, teachers and students are close.
Thankfully, I was able to switch schools after I got out of middle schools. They have little to no options when it comes to higher levels of education, very limited electives, and were terribly understaffed. There were times when I had English teachers teaching my History class, and I'm not kidding when I say they were absolute rubbish at it. The teachers only care about you if you're doing well in their class, and almost never reach out to help if you're failing.
Being a school in a rural community, New Washington Middle/High School doesn't have much to offer. Having been to multiple schools in the district, New Wash is still playing catch up with the other two high schools. The best thing I like about this school is it's smaller size. With the smaller size of the school comes tighter relationships with staff and administration. All the teachers know all of the students and vise versa and it makes a really tight knitted community. Also, the seniors get nice privileges such as getting lunch first and designated spots to eat. Although the other schools are more advanced in terms of academic opportunity, New Wash humbles the student and allows you to enjoy the more simple things in life. Plus, there's totally less drama and bullcrap going on around here.
I liked that New Washington Middle/High school had a small teacher to student ratio. I also liked that there were teachers who genuinely cared about you and how you were doing in class. I did not like that the school didn't offer many college-level classes as other schools in the district did.
I have been going to the New Washington schools my entire life. The middle/high school itself is a combination of middle schools and high schools in one building. We are smaller than the other schools in our district. The biggest class this year has about 64 students (2018-2019) We are a small community, the elementary is right beside us across the road. Everyone knows everyone around here so we are truely like a family. Everyone around here is nice, caring and really good people. One thing I would like to see change is the after school activities. I would like to see more sports and activities to get involved in. A few years ago, we added a gulf team and archery. Last year we added a swim team for middle school students and a robotics club for anyone in grades 6-12. This is my last year at New Washington ever, and I'm so happy and proud that I will always be a Mustang.
I would like to see some rules being applied to everyone if there is a rule. Some administrators only concern themselves with certain students so they harass them when the students are not in class. However, New Washington changed my high school experience greatly. I am able to graduate a semester early due to New Washington and its online courses. I was able to work at my own pace rather than stay behind for everyone else. I am also thankful for the work base learning program. I am to go to work while I am not taking any classes and get credit and money for this work.
I have had a wonderful experience at New Washington. The teachers are very supportive and really get to know you personally. One thing I would change would be to stop creating new rules that target people.
This is a great small town school where a lot of the teachers really care about the students. Most teachers try very hard to get their students interested in learning and most of the students are generally good people.
I have been very happy during my time at New Washington. The staff has went above and beyond to make my high school experience great and have prepared me for college.
People should come to New Washington Middle/High School because it is a different aspect to other schools.
I have gone to New Washington schools since kindergarten, and I have never wanted to move or go to another school. New Washington is a small close knit community, and everybody knows each other. We always have activities; spring fling, movies at the end of a semester, parades, etc. There are several sports and lots of electives like art, radio broadcasting, and choir. New Washington offers dual credit classes and a couple free college courses. I love all the teachers there, and it is easier having a small school because there is more one on one time with your teachers. The only thing I would like to change is that there be more rigorous classes, and an opportunity to graduate with an accosiates degree like in other schools in the county.
The education is subpar to the other high schools in the district. There is not that many classes to choose from. The teachers are rude and biased and the students are entitled.
There aren't many fun classes to chose from. There are a few dual credit classes but no AP classes.
Some of the fun things I have done is being a peer. Prom was also one of my favorite experiences.
My school it okay. I would say there are worse schools with mean students and teachers that don't care. At my school most people are nice, but there is many that I would say are stuck up. Most teachers care for all the students, but many of them don't really teach that much.
The school may be small but it offers a lot for its size. They have many sports to choose from as well as clubs. I participated in three different sports as well as three different clubs. I always felt special because of the schools size.
I would definitely go back to this school and do it all over again. It is a small school and I think that is my favorite thing about it. You never go unnoticed and everyone knows everyone. Sure, we had cliques like every school but for the most part everyone got along with one another.
